Professor Lynne Kennedy has worked in academic public health and nutrition for over 25 years. Lynne was appointed to the first academic public health post outside of medicine and one of the first public health nutritionists, both in the UK. During this time she has served on many local, regional, national and international policy committees, advocating for improvements in health through addressing the issue of food poverty, hunger and inequalities in nutrition and health. She will review her research on the relationship between diet, income and health and her contribution in shaping the response of policy makers and practitioners to the complex social, cultural and political aspects of hunger and modern malnutrition.
